As the parent of a child with a developmental disAbility, Jan has a strong desire to share her experiences and encourage others. This led her to join with Judy to create Full Life Ahead: A Workbook and Guide to Adult Life to help parents and students as they face the future. Jan and Judy have trained parents and professionals all over the country.

Jan is a graduate of Samford University in Art and Piano. She taught private piano and kindergarten music for many years before embarking on a 20-year sales career. She has been a National Sales Trainer and appeared regularly on local television. She also worked as Buyer for the gift shop in their family-owned Crestline Pharmacy for years until its recent sale.

She has worked as part of the Transition Initiative for the Alabama Department of Education and as a consultant to the Southeast Regional Resource Center (SERRC). She has led the Teen Program and shares with parents at the Full Life Ahead Family Weekends.

Jan is a leader in Bible Study Fellowship International, is active in her church and community and was involved for many years with the Jefferson County Pharmacy Auxiliary.

She is part of the Legacy League at Samford University and also serves on the Samford Alumni Executive Council.

Jan and her husband, Mike, have been married for over 48 years and have three daughters, two sons-in-law and six grandchildren.
